Russian army utilizes ground-mobile kamikaze drones
(MENAFN) The Russian Defense Ministry has released a video showing a ground-mobile kamikaze drone successfully targeting a Ukrainian covered trench. The footage, shared on Thursday, shows a small tracked vehicle carrying two anti-tank mines, guided by a reconnaissance drone. The vehicle was directed towards the Ukrainian position, where it detonated the TM-62 mines, each containing approximately 8kg of TNT.
The attack took place in Ukraine's Kharkov Region, according to the video's description. Ground-mobile kamikaze drones, though slower and harder to navigate in rough terrain compared to aerial drones, carry much larger payloads. Both Russian and Ukrainian forces have employed such drones, which can also be used for other purposes such as mining, combat operations, and medical evacuations.
